As many of you are likely tracking, Los Angeles and Southern California is under a tropical storm watch because of Hurricane Hilary. Our region will likely experience periods of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and winds up to 60 miles per hour. The City of Los Angeles expects flooding to occur on roadways and in storm channels. With this news, and out of an abundance of caution, we have made the decision to close all UCLA Extension facilities on Monday, August 21st and to cancel all in-person instruction scheduled on that date. All UCLA Extension employees should work remotely on August 21st and classes that were scheduled to be in-person should either move to a remote format or be rescheduled to a new date and time.

Please stay safe!
